Rest/Full

A poignant portrait of internal struggle, Rest/Full was inspired by Katsugen – a Japanese therapeutic movement form. Entirely spontaneous and individual, the movement quality is deeply personal. Although initially full of conflict and difficulty, the film ultimately finds resolution and peace.

Rest/Full was made in 2008 with the support of Welsh Independent Dance and in 2009 was shown as part of Solo in Azione (Milan) where it was presented on a giant outdoor screen in the Piazza del Duomo. It was subsequently toured by the peripatetic film festival Esspressioni in 2010 showing in many cities across mainland Europe. Back in Wales it was shown at the Dylan Thomas festival in 2011 and has found a permanent home in the National Library representing contemporary Welsh film making.
